Closed Door Meeting in Mogadishu Among Somali President, Speaker of the Parliament and the Prime Min

Mogadishu, (Insidesomalia.org) a closed door tripartite meeting started on Saturday in Mogadishu among Somali President Abdullaahi Yusuf, The Prime minister Nur Hassan Hussein and Speaker of the Parliament Sheikh Aden, says government official.

 

The meeting was said to be discussed on the current issue of the crisis in the capital especially the fighting in the Bakara market, the main market in Somalia where government forces confront against insurgents.

 

The speaker of the Parliament arrived on Saturday in Mogadishu from Baidoa town, the official site of the parliament.

 

"Soon after he arrived the Speaker of the Parliament he had a meeting with Somali Prime Minister Nur Hassan Husein "said government official speaking in anonymity with InsideSomalia.org.

 

Reports say that after their closed door meeting the three leaders might release a statement on their current discussions.

 

The meeting was also discussed on government plan to start dialogue with the opposition groups including insurgents fighting Somali government and Ethiopian troops in the capital.

 

The leader of the main opposition group, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed said that they will start talks with the government after Ethiopian troops withdrew from Somalia.

 

Somali Prime Minister Nur Hassan Husein rejected that talks with the government preconditioned with the Ethiopian troops withdrawn from Somalia.

 

United Nations and local human rights groups said at least 6,000 were killed and more than one million others displaced since o December 2006 when fighting flared up between allied Somali government and Ethiopian troops against insurgents in the capital Mogadishu.
